Seven Secrets of Writing Letters to the Editor

Shorter is better. Get to the point quickly. Aim for about 100-150 words (our LTE tool counts words for you!).
Make it compelling. Grab the reader in the first sentence with something provocative or entertaining.
End with an image. Create a metaphor that visually sticks in the reader's mind.
Don't make it too analytical. You only have a few words.
Put passion into your words. If you feel strongly about something, let those emotions show.
Proof your copy for spelling and grammar mistakes.
And, most importantly, make sure the facts you cite are accurate!
